BOOK - Mr. James Roy Book aged 81 of Rockford, formerly of Grove City, PA., passed away Friday, June 9, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Leslie and Alice Book; brothers, Bill and Jesse Book; sisters, Betty Dennison and Mary Ann Book; daughter, Debbie Essenberg; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joe and Thelma Neeley. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth; children, Connie (Joseph) Szczepanek, Laurel Book, Joseph (Lori) Book, Ann (Clay) Dehen; grandchildren, Zachary (Theresa), Alyssa and Peter Szczepanek, Karen Essenberg, Amy (Greg) Broersma, Angela and Kellie Book; great grandchildren, Masyn, Dylan, Bethany, Rachel, Kimberly and AJ; brothers, Dale Book, John (Sharon) Book; sisters, Edie (Bunk) Spence, Wanda Patterson, Evie Book, Eleanor Christy; sisters-in-law, JoEllen Snyder, Rebecca Hilliard; many nieces and nephews. James worked for many years as a Pattern Maker. He began his career at P. Wall and Cooper Bessemer, both in Grove City, PA., he continued his career in Michigan at Michigan Pattern, Model Pattern and later became manager at JB Pattern in Muskegon where he later retired. James moved his family to Grand Rapids where he attended Grand Rapids Bible College. Following his graduation James served as Pastor with Baldwin Baptist Church. A celebration of life will be held 12:00 Noon, Wednesday June 14, 2017 at the Stegenga Funeral Chapel - Belmont, 1601 Post Dr. NE., Belmont, MI and at Stoneboro Methodist Church, 32 Lake St., Stoneboro, PA. His family will greet relatives and friends Tuesday from 6 to 8PM at Stegenga Funeral Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Interment Washington Park Memorial Gardens.
