James Anthony VanderWall

James VanderWall, age 76, of Alto, went peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior on Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Henry and Henrietta; sister, Sue Berkenpas; and nephew, Sam. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 42 years, Nancy; his son, Jeff (Laura) Northouse; grandsons, Matthew and Christopher Northouse; brother, Dave (Connie); sister, Judy Cook; brother-in-law, Jimmylee Berkenpas; nieces, nephews and many wonderful friends. Jim was a builder by trade but had many other talents. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and he always looked forward to going to his cabin in the U.P with his hunting buddies. Jim was a great cook and soon became the head chef at the cabin! He also loved tinkering in his barn. Jim was a longtime member of Lakeside Community Church and will be remembered for his passion for God and musical talents. He always lit up the room! A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 15, 11 am at Lakeside Community Church, 6201 Whitneyville Ave SE, Alto, with a light lunch to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jim’s memory to Samaritan’s Purse or Lakeside Community Church.
