Remembering James Allen Kamps

James Allen Kamps, age 70, of Hudsonville, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Dorothy Kamps. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 27 years, Jeannette; his children, Anne Rakosky, Emily and Eric Schroeder, Joshua Kamps, stepson Brian Barrett; grandchildren, Hayden, Gracie, Izzy, Ethan, Chloe, Ralyne; brothers, Bill and Molly Kamps, Ron Kamps; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Memorial services will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023, at 11 a.m. at South Grandville Christian Reformed Church, 4130 Wilson SW. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Emmanuel Hospice.

My uncle Jim was the most kind, loving, hardworking man. I didn’t get to see him much unfortunately but when I did he always gave me the biggest hug and kiss on the cheek! I will definitely miss those! May he rest in peace. I love you uncle Jim and will miss you so much!

Jim was a very kind brother-in-law who took wonderful care of my sister. We are thankful for the many happy years they shared together. It was a joy to witness the deep love and devotion he had for his family, especially his kids and grandkids. He will be sorely missed.
