James Alan Alkema

James “Jim” Alan Alkema, age 69, of Grandville, passed away in the presence of his family after a courageous journey with cancer and was called to his heavenly home on Friday, August 27, 2021. Jim was a kind and loving husband, dad, grandpa, son, and brother who treasured his family. He had a deep faith in his Lord and Savior which was evident to all who knew him. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Jack Alkema, and his father-in-law, Kenneth Miedema. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 42 years, Cindy Alkema; his children, Jeff and Rebecca Alkema, Michelle and Ryan Moroney, Justin and Jenna Alkema; his grandchildren, Ema, Jacelyn, Laurelye, and Lillian Alkema, Gabriel, and Sawyer Moroney, Roman, Beckhem, and Gavin Alkema.; his mother, Ruth Alkema, mother-in-law, Martha Miedema; many loving brothers and sisters; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at 11 am at South Grandville Church, 4130 Wilson Ave SW, Grandville with Rev. John Witvliet officiating. Burial Grandville Cemetery.
