Cherry, Jacqueline Margaret The last chapter is finished. Her Book of Life is closed. Jacqueline Margaret Cherry (Timpson) enjoyed her last words on February 21, 2019 at Hathaway Hills in Greenville, Michigan. Jackie's Book of Life has been lovingly placed on the shelf next to those of her husband, Conard I. Cherry Jr.; her parents, Charles and Virginia Timpson; and her brothers, Ken, Dick, and Don Timpson. This was a marvelous tale of a True Believer. Jackie believed in her Caledonia and helped it grow and evolve. She believed in the support and community of her church. She believed that through adversity comes personal growth and the opportunity to help. She believed in being kind and treating everyone with respect and dignity. She believed in the wonder of friends, a good golf game, and winning at euchre. But mostly, Jackie believed in her family. Her favorite chapters were the ones about her children: Diane Cooper (Pat), Brian Cherry (Peg Klouda) and Scott Cherry (Marci). She also loved to relish in the adventures of her 5 grandchildren and her 6 great-grandchildren. Chapter after chapter speak of her devotion to family and friends. Others speak of how easy it was for others to fall under her spell of kindness and compassion and want to enjoy her company. At least one chapter must be devoted to her "strength of character"- something that was often mistaken for stubbornness. There would only be a passing reference to her multiple battles with cancer because Jackie only considered them a distraction to the true plot of her story - her family and her desire to always be kind and helpful. Jackie's Book of Life was a good one - a classic. Funeral services will be held in Caledonia on Tuesday, February 26th. Family will greet friends and well-wishers between 10:00 and 11:00 at Caledonia United Methodist Church (250 Vine St. SE) with service taking place at 11:00. A luncheon at the church will follow. In lieu of gifts or flowers, the family asks that you do something nice for someone and share the gifts of love, kindness, and generosity the way that Jackie did. Or maybe you could make an anonymous donation to your local library and smile.
