Jacob Ondersma

ONDERSMA - Mr. Jacob B. Ondersma, aged 92, went to be with his Lord Wednesday, December 25, 2013. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances on Friday, December 20; parents, Frank and Flora Ondersma; sisters, Mary (Bill) Den Houten, Ann (Bill) Hollander; brothers-in-law, William Vander Vennen, John, George and Andrew Holwerda; sister-in-law, Marlene Holwerda. Surviving are his children, Jodi-Lynn Bartell, Wayne (Sue) Ondersma; grandchildren, Alanna (Mike) Dangreman, Tony Lyon, Andrew (Sara) Lyon, Mackenzie Mills, Keri Buursma, Kimberly (Karac) Zwart, Benjamin (Meg) Ondersma, Kristina (Scott) Brookens; 12 great grandchildren; brothers, Frank, Andrew (Jane) Ondersma; sisters-in-law, Joan Vander Vennen, Gladys and Sharon Holwerda; many nieces and nephews. Jacob was a gunner in the US Air Force. He was a self-employed home builder and a supervisor of property services for Meijer, Inc. retiring in 1985. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, restoring VWs and golf carts, and playing golf. Funeral services will be held 11:00AM Saturday, December 28 at Brookside Christian Reformed Church, 3600 Kalamazoo Ave. SE., with Pastor Wayne Ondersma officiating. His family will greet relatives and friends Friday from 6 to 8 PM at Brookside CRC and Saturday one hour prior to the service at church. Interment Rest Lawn Memorial Park.
