It is with heartfelt sadness and wholehearted gladness that we announce the homegoing of Jack McIntyre, Sr. on Saturday, November 11, 2023. Jack had most recently lived in Hudsonville, MI prior to a brief stay at Rose Garden Assisted Living in Grandville.
Jack was born and raised in Grandville, graduated from Grandville High School in 1952, served in the U.S. Navy from 1952 - 1955. He and his wife, Elaine (nee Wynsma), were married on September 28, 1956.
The heartfelt sadness is experienced by his loved ones by whom he is survived. These include his wife, Elaine; four sons, Jack (Karri), Brian (Debbie), Don, Tim (Deb); 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; seven siblings and their families; and the families of his three siblings who preceded him in death. Those who preceded him in death include his parents, James and Alma McIntyre; sisters, Bonnie and Sandy; brother, Jim; daughter-in-law, Marcia; and grandson, Derek.
The wholehearted gladness is for Jack and is grounded in our belief in passages of Scripture like 2 Corinthians 5: 1-8. We look forward to a glad reunion one day with our husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Grandville Bible Church, 4122 44th St. SW, Grandville. Burial will take place at Rest Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday, November 17, from 7-8:30 pm and Saturday from 10-11:30 am all at the church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to West African Mercy Ministries.
