Jack Lee Zylstra

Jack Zylstra, age 77, was called home by his Heavenly Father on Saturday, July 5, 2025. He was born April 3, 1948 to the late Ted and Esther Zylstra.  Surviving are his wife, Ruth of 46 years, two sons; Todd (Jennifer) Busing, Troy (Nicci) Zylstra; grandchildren; Zachary, Collin, Jacob, Elayna Busing, Alliyah, Ava, Jaxon, Jett, Calyx Zylstra; Leeann, Daetyn, Cohen Lucas; two great-granddaughters; Nova and Camden and two on the way great-grandchildren, Ezra and Remi.  Also surviving are two brothers; Robert Zylstra, Ted Zylstra; and many many dear friends. Jack worked many years for Steelcase before retiring.  He enjoyed watching the Detroit Lions, the Tigers, golfing, bowling, fishing, hunting, listening to music, but most importantly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and following all of their activities.  Jack and Ruth enjoyed spending time listening to 6 - Pak and guitars for Vets. Jack was always taking his best friend on road trips, or wherever they might explore together for a new adventure.  Memorial services will be held 11 am Tuesday July 15, 2025 at St. John Vianney Church with Rev. John Vallier officiating.   Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 3 - 8 pm at  Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park Ave SW, Wyoming and also one hour prior to the service at the church.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions in Jack Zylstra's name to go to the Guitars for Vets the Grand Rapids Chapter.
