Jack Flory

June 18, 2026

Jack Henry Flory, of Jenison, age 79, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2026. He was born on August 15, 1946, in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer “Tug” Flory and Henriette “Curly” Flory; and his two brothers, James and Gerald. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Linda; daughter, Jacqueline; and his two grandchildren, Max and Claire.

Jack graduated from Godwin High School and attended Michigan State University, where he developed a lifelong passion for the Spartans, proudly cheering them on for decades—much to the chagrin of his Wolverine-supporting grandson. He spent the majority of his career in electrical sales and retired as a partner with Young & Champagne Electrical Sales. Following retirement, Jack continued to give back to his community by serving as president of the Godwin Golden G’s, an alumni organization dedicated to helping local high school students pursue their educational goals and dreams.

Jack was a true jokester who loved making people laugh and never passed up an opportunity to have a good time. He enjoyed being outdoors, whether he was fishing, playing golf, spending time on the water, or simply relaxing with family and friends. A devoted sports fan, he especially loved following his favorite teams and sharing in the excitement of the game.

Determined, hardworking, and assertive, Jack was known as someone who could always "get things done." He was a natural protector who deeply cared for his wife, daughter, and grandchildren, always putting his family first. His love and devotion to them were evident in everything he did.

Jack also proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Having been wounded in combat, he was awarded the Purple Heart, an honor he carried with great pride. His service, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to both his country and his family will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 26, 2026, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3937 Wilson Ave. SW, Grandville, with Rev. Douglas Braun presiding.
