Jack E. Boyer, age 86, of Jenison, was called to his heavenly home on Thursday, August 24, 2017. He is survived by his dear wife of 62 years, Mary; daughter, LeAnne and Greg Schimke; four grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.  After serving his country in the US Army Tank Co., 4th Infantry, Jack married the love of his life, Mary, and moved from South Bend to Grand Rapids. He began his career with the Grand Rapids Fire Department in 1955, retiring as a fire investigator in 1991. Jack will long be remembered for his quick, dry wit and devilish grin.  In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place, and there will be no public visitation or services. Jack will be interred at Ft. Custer National Cemetery.

Mary, LeAnne and family, we are so very sorry to hear of Jacks passing! Now he's telling jokes in heaven! We loved him and will miss him! He was Dads "best friend". Love to you!

Mary, I am so very sorry for your and your families loss. I always enjoyed your visits to the pharmacy , because Jack would make the day so much better. He always had a cheesy joke that I could never remember. He was a wonderful man we will remember fondly and smile.
