Rubin, Irene Irene Rubin, Major in the Salvation Army, left us to be with Jesus on Thursday, May 15, 2014. Irene and her husband faithfully served as ministers in the Salvation Army for 44 years. She was also an avid gardener and game player! She will be dearly missed by her husband of 53 years, Cai; children and grandchildren, Kent and Kelli Rubin (Payton, Emma), Cairena and Brian Huttenga (Benjamin, Quin, Reagan); sister, Delores Butts. A private graveside service will be held at Grandville Cemetery on Monday afternoon. Memorial services will be held on Monday at 2 pm at Salvation Army, 1235 East Fulton St., Grand Rapids, with Major James McDowell officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Salvation Army or Faith Hospice.

What a joy and blessing we experienced as we fellowshipped with our extended family yesterday and today.
