Irene Dorothy Blystra

Irene Dorothy Blystra, age 89, of Jenison, went home to her Lord Jesus Christ on August 4, 2017.  She was our precious Mom, Nonnie and Great-Gram.  We will miss her so much, but take comfort in knowing she is with Jesus. Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Blystra, her son, James Blystra, and daughter-in-law, Pam Blystra. Irene is survived by her children, Mary and Gary Welton, Deb and John Plooster, and Bev Blystra. Her grandchildren are James and Tia, Chris and Ariella, Kevin and Kara, Richard and Mandy, Matthew and Lindsay, Matthew and Sarah, Ray and Janay, Mitch and Christina, and 13 great-grandchildren.  Her in-laws were her family: Cornelia Arens, Sylvia Dykstra, Harriet Haverdink, Martha and Jake Terpstra, and many nieces and nephews. Irene’s church family, Ridgewood Christian Reformed Church, has been a beautiful blessing and encouragement throughout the years.  A special thank you to all of her care givers at Sheldon Meadows and also to Shauna and all of the nurses and staff from Hospice Care. A private graveside service will be held by the family.   Interment at Graafschap Cemetery.
