Howard Van Dyke

Howard “Howie” J. Van Dyke, age 84, formerly of Allendale, passed away quietly from natural causes on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Heron Manor in Grand Rapids, and is now free from his lifelong affliction with Cerebral Palsy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Van Dyke; and his parents, Cornelius and Margaret Van Dyke. He is survived by his fiancée, Brenda Hoogenstyn; siblings, Don and Lois Van Dyke, Phyllis and Mark DeYoung, Robert and Marva Van Dyke. Howie was a people person and made friends wherever he was. He loved stock car racing and Wii bowling. Howie was a member of New Community Church of West Michigan. A memorial service to celebrate Howie’s life will be held at a later date at Heron Manor. The burial will take place at Allendale Township Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Elim Christian Services (Crestwood, IL).
