Howard R. Timmer

Howard Ray Timmer, age 85, of Kentwood went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, March 1, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Winnie Timmer and several aunts and uncles. He will always be lovingly remembered by his wife, Arlene; children, Marlene, David and Beth, Cindi and Alan; grandchildren, Heather, Jon and Samantha; great grandsons, Zachery and Elijah; brother, Phil and Jean Timmer; brothers-in-law, Bill and Norma Stapley, Dick and Maribeth Stapley; many nieces and nephews. Howard was actively involved in various ministries at Calvary Church for many years. He was an elder and deacon, participated in Bible study, was a prayer partner for the pastors, planned bus trips and tours for the Seniors Group and helped with the Senior Lunch Program. He also participated in the Festival of Lights productions as a wiseman. Howard enjoyed many traveling trips throughout Europe and Israel with his wife, Arlene. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12:30 pm Wednesday, March 16, at Calvary Church, 707 E. Beltline NE (use Entrance C) Grand Rapids. A private burial will be at Kent Memorial Gardens. Friends and relatives may meet the family Tuesday from 4-6 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Calvary Church, Holland Home or to a Mission of one’s choice.
