Smith, Homer L 12/12/1926 - 10/7/2018 Wyoming MI Homer Leelan Smith, age 91, died Sunday October 7th 2018 in Wyoming MI. Passing in his sleep at the home he lived in since 1963. Born in Harlan KY he was a WWII Navy veteran joining on his 18th birthday. Homer worked as an engineer for the C&O Railroad, a position that took him to Detroit and eventually Grand Rapids where he retired over 30 years ago! Homer was a member of the Wyoming Moose Lodge 763 but in more recent years he enjoyed weekly visits to American Legion Post 208 for a shot and a beer. A great bowler and chess player, a pool player, a music lover, and more... There were SO many who had an impact on his life over the years, please know you were thought of often. Grand kids, great grand kids, nieces, nephews, neighbors, friends, family, caretakers, the list could go on and on... Homer had 5 kids with his first wife Peggy; Julie, Luke, Suzy, Gary, and Cindy. Later he met and married Gladys who had one son, Kenny Adams. Together Homer and Gladys had Charles. Years later Homer was blessed with two more loves; his girlfriend Bea and wife Marge. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM Friday October 12th, 2018 at Stegenga Funeral Chapel - Wyoming, 3131 S.
