Mrs. Hildred J. (Ruis, Baarda) Nink, aged 95, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 15, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Bernard Baarda, Arthur Ruis, Earle Nink; her son, Robert Baarda; a great granddaughter, Olivia Matthysse; sister, Ann Melin; brothers, Henry and John Bryker; step-sons, Ron and Gary Nink. Surviving are her son, Thomas (Debra) Baarda; her daughter, Nancy (Calvin) Matthysse; her step children, Linda (Steve) Stratton, Dennis (Patricia) Ruis, Judy (Mike) Hefferan, Randy (Barb) Ruis, Sandy (Doug) Ritsema; her grandchildren, Tim Baarda, Ashley (Jeromi) Braatz, Christopher (Kelly) Matthysse, Jeff (Tara) Matthysse, Jason, Robert, Justin, Shawntay, and Danielle Baarda; her great grandchildren, Chace Braatz, Elliana, Max, and Cooper Matthysse; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive SW with her pastor, Rev. James Evenhouse (visitation pastor of the 12th Ave. CRC) officiating. Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. The family wishes to thank the staff at Sunset Manor and Brookcrest for their wonderful care.

Aunt Hildred was amazing!! I remember all the visits to Molesta Floral with my mom and how Aunt Hildred was always so sweet and kind. I loved seeing her -- memories of a lifetime. All our love and prayers to Aunt Hildred.

Hildred was very dear to me. She had a gentleness and warmth about her that welcomed people. She had strength and courage that carried her through tough times. A faith in God that defined her and made an impact in my life and I'm sure in many life's as well. I am grateful to have been her friend and will miss her.

Hildy was one of my "jewelry ladies" at Sunset; I repaired many pieces for her, especially the stretchy rings she loved to wear. I always enjoyed visiting with her when I would pick up or drop off her jewelry. I will miss her.
