Hilde Wilhelm

Hilde Wilhelm, age 90, of Wyoming, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, September 21, 2021. Hilde was born in Idar-Oberstein, Germany and moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan with her husband, James DeYoung, in 1954. Hilde was happiest when entertaining, traveling, and surrounded by family and friends. She is preceded in death by her first husband, James DeYoung, and second husband, Erich Wilhelm. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Cristine and James Osborn; son David and Launi DeYoung; grandchildren, Corinne Skala, Andrea and Matt Bartel, Seraphine DeYoung, Truman DeYoung, Adeline DeYoung, Bricen Freiwald; two great-grandchildren, Max Bartel, Clementine Bartel; nieces, nephews, and many friends. Hilde made friends wherever she went and will be remembered for her sense of humor, infectious laugh, and the sparkle in her eye. She is deeply missed by family, friends and all that knew her. She will always be our “Jewelry Queen”. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021, 2 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. Burial Pine Hill Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family 1-2 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
