Herman Kamps

Herman Kamps, age 93, of Jenison, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, February 11, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Helen Kamps, siblings, Nancy and Harold VanOverloop, Bert and Joyce Kamps, Helen Verstrate, JB Kamps; and grandson, Alan Kamps. Herm will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 69 years, Shirley; sons, Mike Kamps, Bob and Cyndi Kamps, Bruce and Lori Kamps; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Gretta (Ron) Barbrick, Joyce Ritchie; and brother-in-law, Lyle Verstrate. Herm was a US Army veteran serving during the Korean War. Herm retired from the United States Postal Service, Hudsonville office, after years of dedicated service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing shuffleboard. The family wishes to thank the staff of Sunset Reflections Unit and Corewell Health Hospice who provided love and care to both Herm and his family. Memorial services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at Baldwin St. Christian Reformed Church, 2101 Baldwin St., Jenison with Pastor Ron Baker officiating. Burial will take place at Forest Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 10:00-10:45 am prior to the service at the church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Sunset Legacy Foundation or Jenison Christian School.
