Henry Ter Horst, Jr., age 86, of Grand Rapids, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 30, 2021. Hank was co-owner of Ter Horst & Rinzema Construction Co. and Cascade, Jenison and Greenville Car Wash. A faithful servant of Christ, he was a longtime member of Cascade Fellowship Church. He enjoyed fishing and golfing. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. After retirement, he enjoyed spending summers at the cottage on White Lake, and winters in Naples, FL.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 66 years, Marge; children: Doug and Monica Ter Horst, Dan and Deb Ter Horst, Deb and John Rose, Karry Betten-Ter Horst, Mike Ter Horst and Ingrid Ter Horst; 15 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sisters and brother: Ardith Roodvoets, Jane and Gord Zylstra, James and Jane Ter Horst; brother-in-law, Henry and Doreen Triezenberg; many dear nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Henry “Butch” Ter Horst III; brother, Donald and Shirley Ter Horst; brothers-in-law: Fred Roodvoets, Herman and Shirley Triezenberg; sister-in-law, Jerri and Cal Smitter.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 7 at Cascade Fellowship Church, 6655 Cascade Rd., Grand Rapids, with Rev. Bill Witt and Rev. Milton Doornbos officiating. Burial will be held at Cascade Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood and one hour prior to the service at the church. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Faith Hospice and especially Dawn Mango, his personal nurse, for all the love and support they have given. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Hospice.
