Henry   Hilbrand Jr.

Hilbrand Jr., Henry Henry Hilbrand Jr., age 81, of Hudsonville, went to be with his Lord Jesus on Monday, January 19, 2015.  Henry was a 1956 graduate of Calvin College, and he received a master’s degree from the University of Michigan in 1962. He was a teacher and administrator at Jenison Christian Schools for 35 years, and was Georgetown Township supervisor from 1992 to 2000.  Henry was an avid hunter and outdoorsman, and he enjoyed spending time on his property in Grant.  He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Sena Hilbrand Sr.; in-laws, Albert and Grace Miedema; sisters, Dorothy Scholtens and Johanna Wolters; brothers, Harry, Albert, Rich, Carl, Don Hilbrand; and brothers-in-law, Charles Scholtens and Auke J. Bouma.  He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Bermayne Ruth Hilbrand (nee Miedema); children, Gail Hilbrand, David Hilbrand, Randy (Laura) Hilbrand, Philip (Jane) Hilbrand, and Jeff (Cheryl) Hilbrand; grandchildren, Amy (Andrew Engelsman), Carri, Joshua, Emily, Jacob, Jared Hilbrand, Nick and Trevor Foland; great-grandchildren, Maya and Leo Engelsman; brother, Simon (Sharon) Hilbrand; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Hilbrand, Friedeth Hilbrand, Lois Hilbrand, Dixie Hilbrand, Joan Hilbrand, Jane (Marvin) Mingerink, Carilyn Bouma; brothers-in-law, Alfred Wolters and Dale (Vera) Miedema.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 23 at 11 AM at Baldwin Street Christian Reformed Church, 2101 Baldwin Street, Jenison with Rev. Jerry Van Groningen officiating.  Interment Georgetown Township Cemetery.  The family will meet with relatives and friends on Thursday, January 22 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive SW and on Friday, January 23 from 10-10:45 AM at the church prior to the service.  Memorial donations may be made to Jenison Christian School or Grant Christian School.
