Helene Janette DeVries

Helene Janette (Hager) DeVries, age 87, of Hudsonville, went to be with her Lord on Friday, September 26, 2014.  She was preceded in death by her husbands, David G. Meulenberg and Gerald J. DeVries.  She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Bonnie (David) Moelker, Betty (Ray) Ringerwole, Larry (Judy) Meulenberg, Barbara (Jeff) Slager, Jon (Lori) Meulenberg; step children, Paul (Marlene) DeVries, John (Michelle) DeVries, Debra (Jack) Versluis; 24 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren; 7 step grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Shirley (Jim) Sjoerdsma, Jack (Marlene) Hager, John (Mick) Hager, Ann (Jim) Ashby, Bob (Linda) Hager; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Don VerHage, Dan (Marcia) Meulenberg, Ray Ezinga, Marvin (Rena) DeVries, Eleanor Bol, Sylvia Meulenberg, Shirley Meulenberg, Judie (Jack) Feenstra; and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Helene’s Life will be held on Tuesday 7:00 PM at Grandville Protestant Reformed Church, 4320 40th Street, Grandville with Rev. Kenneth Koole officiating.  Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive SW.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Protestant Reformed Special Education.  The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at Senior Support and Emmanuel Hospice for the wonderful care given to Helene.
