Remembering Helen Marie Mott

Helen Marie Mott, age 62, of Wyoming, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2019. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Philip (Aprille) Marsh, Kevin (Tracy Melville) Marsh, Gregory (Katelan) Marsh; grandchildren: Madison Reister, Tyler Marsh, Quentin Marsh, Madison, Nolan, Isabel, and Abrina Melville, Lincoln Marsh, Aeden Molitor, Hazel Mae Molitor; parents, George and Mamie Mott; siblings: Linda DeBoode, Tom (Kelly) Mott; aunt, Madelyn Mott; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved Roger Sloop. Helen was very proud of her children and grandchildren. She also loved reading, working at the Kent District Library and being able to talk with anyone and everyone. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday 11 a.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave SE, Kentwood. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m.

I first met Helen at a black lake conferences about 8 yrs ago, we hit it off right a way, Helen had a beautiful soul and a huge heart, I will miss you sister Helen. there is no other with the passion Helen had. RIP Sweet Helen

I was so sad to hear about this. Helen has been my neighbor for the past 10 years, and made me feel welcome right when I moved in next door. Such a warm soul. Our daily “hellos” will be missed. You are now free from any pain, may you Rest In Peace.

I knew Helen from working together at KDL. She was a wonderfully sweet person who gave her best to the library and to her work representing her co-workers in the union. I am very sorry to hear that her life has ended so soon.

Helen and I met in middle school and were friends through high school. She was always a delight to talk to and always upbeat. We crossed paths a few times over the years after that and always enjoyed catching up. She was a special lady and will be greatly missed. Rest easy Helen.

I am lost for words to describe how I feel right now. That is because there are no words to describe how loving and caring Helen was. She was my girlfriend in Jr high and even back than she was the most sweetest and caring person around and that made me the luckiest guy in school and I will treasure those memories for ever. I know in times like this there are no words to take away the pain but to her children I want to let you know personally you are the luckiest kids in the world to have has a mom like Helen and I hope you all treasure the memories as much as I will. I will miss you more than words can say, I love you Helen and may God bless you and give you the happiness you deserve.

Helen was always someone who could laugh easily, help and listen. I knew her from my time working for KCLS/KDL, and always enjoyed talking with her on my visits to Kentwood Library for a youth program. She was a devoted mother/grandmother and KDL employee and union member. Helen will be missed not only by her family but by the countless number of KCLS/KDL employees and Kentwood Library patrons she encountered during her many years of service. God Bless You Helen.
