Helen Elizabeth Wheat

Helen Elizabeth Wheat, age 89, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2019.  Helen was born on July 22, 1929 in Flint, MI to Edwin and Nellie (Penrod) Hulett. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Jay Wheat; her parents; sisters, Lucy and Irene; brother, Kenneth. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Maxine (Wheat) Weimer and son-in-law, Harry Weimer; 6 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 17 great-great grandchildren; her sisters and brother, Clara, Eddie, Laura, Dorothy; and many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 3 pm on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood, with her great grandson, Jordan Weimer officiating. Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.  Relatives and friends may meet the family on Saturday 2-3 pm at the funeral home prior to the service.
