Hazel Marie Alpher

Hazel Marie Alpher (Rayburn), 91, of Grand Rapids Michigan, born in Detroit passed peacefully on May 30th, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Hazel had always wanted to become a mother and filled that role well. She had a strong love for animals and the fine arts. She struck a great balance between her responsibilities as a homemaker and office manager.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Patricia Franczek, Edward and Carol Franczek, Susan Franczek; her grandkids, Alexander and Ashley Franczek, Michael Franczek, Jack Franczek; and many caring nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Franczek and her second husband, Dale Alpher; eight brothers, Russell, Charles, William, Boyden, Robert, Richard, Jerome, and Henry.

In keeping with Hazel’s wishes, no formal service will be held. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Hospice of Michigan and Kent County Animal Shelter.
