Harvey Edward Yaeger, age 97, of Alto, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 15, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister and five brothers. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 68 years, Freda (Pony Express); children, Karen and Ronald Walter, Richard and Christina Yaeger; grandchildren, Shannon and Mike McAvoy, Lindsay and Mike Bigney; and four great-granddaughters. Harvey was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He loved his family and took every opportunity to spend time with them. He had a soft spot in his heart for animals and nature. Funeral services will be held Friday at 12:00 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Caledonia), 616 E. Main St., with Chaplain Dave Blackmore officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service. Interment Bowne Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Disabled American Veterans or a veterans charity of your choice.
