Harvey “Harve” Westveld, age 90, of Allendale, a child of Almighty God, was called to his heavenly home on Wednesday, November 23, 2022. Harve was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who cherished his family. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Rosie; and his infant son, Douglas Todd. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Tom and Holly Westveld, Todd and Chris Westveld, Kurt and Susan Westveld, Brad and Misty Westveld; his grandchildren, Tom Jr. and Melodee, Anthony, Taylah and Matt, Tara and Brandon, Tessa, Keely, Keaton, Carys, and JD; his great-grandchildren, Sophie, Nylee, Maxwell, and Ava; sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy Bosch, Ken Vander Kodde; several nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Harve proudly served his country in the US Army. He was an employee of UPS, retiring after 37 years of dedicated service. Harve enjoyed U of M football games with his family and Unity Christian High School Athletics. He also enjoyed gardening and traveling. Harve was a long time member of La Grave Ave. CRC where he served on council and sang in the Chancel Choir. Above all, his love for his family, and his example of faith was evident to all who knew him. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at 2 p.m at LaGrave Ave. Christian Reformed Church, 107 La Grave Ave SE, Grand Rapids, with Rev. Peter Jonker and Pastor Chad Boorsma officiating. Burial Allendale Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 4-7 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Allendale) 6651 Scott St. and also from 1-2 pm prior to the service at church.
