Harvey Driesenga, age 84, of Allendale, was called to his heavenly home on Monday, September 26, 2022. Harv was a kind and loving husband, dad, and grandpa with a quiet faith. Harv enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing with his family. He was a lifelong member of North Blendon CRC where he served with his time and talents in many ways. Harv was the former partner of Driesenga Builders along with his dad and brothers, building many beautiful homes in the West Michigan area. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Anna Driesenga, brother, Larry Driesenga, parents-in-law, John and Eva Westerling, brothers-in-law, John Westerling, Jr., and Bob Nakken. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 64 years, Nellie; children, Dennis and Pam Driesenga, Dan and Nancy Driesenga, Bob and Christy Driesenga, Ed and Peggy Driesenga; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Bea and Junior Vereeke, Roger and Barb Driesenga, Ron and Marilyn Driesenga, Mary Lou Driesenga, Bill and Joan Atkinson; Merri Westerling, Evie Nakken, George and Cookie Vander Leest, Jim and Ann Westerling; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Mandy of Faith Hospice for the compassionate care and love that was given to Harv during his care at home. A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Friday, September 30, 2022, at North Blendon Christian Reformed Church, 7284 Taylor St., Hudsonville with Rev. Aaron Vriesman officiating. Burial Blendon Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 5-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Allendale) 6651 Scott St. In honor of the wonderful care that Harv received, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Faith Hospice.
