Harvard “Harv” Jay Haverhals, age 77, of Walker, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, September 30, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents, Siebert and Fannie Haverhals; and two sisters, Margene Haverhals and Verna Haverhals. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 53 years, Ruth Haverhals; sons, Marc Haverhals, Nathan Haverhals; brothers, Bernard Haverhals, Gerald and Thelma Haverhals; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joyce and Bob Nelson; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Harv proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Harv also proudly worked for Keeler Brass and Johnson Controls for many years. He enjoyed volunteering at Love INC and being active at his church. He had a great sense of humor, and he will be dearly missed. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 5, 2026, at Searchlight Ministries, 4020 22nd Ave., Hudsonville, with Pastor Sam Krikke officiating. The burial will take place at Grandville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Sunday, October 4, from 5-7 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. An additional visitation will be held on Monday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Love Your Neighbor.
