Harry and Lena Donnelly

Harry Donnelly, Jr., age 99 and Lena (Dever) Donnelly age 97, of Sun City FL, formerly of Grandville, went home to be with their Lord.  Lena passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2017. Three weeks later, Harry joined her on Easter Morning, April 16, 2017.  Theirs was a true love story, and they were married for over 78 years.  They were preceded in death by their son, Richard J. Donnelly on April 10, 2017.  They will be lovingly remembered by their son, Kenneth Donnelly; daughter, Susan and Paul Lidgard; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  Harry proudly served our country during WWII as a member of the United States Army receiving EAMET Ribbon with 2 Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Medal. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Maggie Flanigan for all her wonderful support and loving care.  Memorial services for Harry and Lena will be held on Saturday 11 am April 29, 2017 at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, with Rev. Dan Furman officiating.  Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday, April 28 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the funeral home.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Veterans Administration or the Neal Fonger American Legion Post #179.
