Steve Fennema

Harold Steven Fennema, age 73, of Hudsonville, passed away peacefully after a long battle with Parkinson’s and leukemia and went to be home with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, April 6, 2021. Steve was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He had a servant’s heart and loved helping others. Steve enjoyed working on cars and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Frances Fennema; brother-in-law, Gord Faber. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 44 years, Jane; children, Rick and Diane VanderWest, Sherry and Mike Austin, Randy and Kiersten VanderWest, Ron and Angie VanderWest; grandchildren, Kevin VanderWest, Brandon and Rachel VanderWest, Malyn and Keith Heyboer, Mitch VanderWest, Jaci and Joe Timmermans, Jamie and Jason Ferguson, Jenna Austin, Joe and Alice Austin, Kati and Ricky Sanford, Molly VanderWest, Maegan and Isaac Riddle, Levi Lutz, and Violet Lutz; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Luanne and Norm VanSolkema, Kathy Faber, Karie and Doug McCann; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joy and Harold Dekkenga, Joan and Dave Velting, and Jim and Diane VanderGiessen; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 10, at 11 am at Jenison Bible Church, 6360 14th Ave. Hudsonville, with Pastor Mark Bouslog, Pastor Rich McCarrell, and Pastor Lee Buer officiating. Burial Floral View Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW.
