Harold George DeGroot

Harold George DeGroot, age 92, of Grandville, was delivered into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 30, 2022. Anyone who crossed paths with him would describe him as a kind and sweet man. Harold was known as MacGyver- anything that needed fixing or adjusting, he knew how to do it. However, most importantly, Harold’s faith in Jesus Christ was the number one priority in his life. The family rejoices knowing he’s breathing the glorious breath of Heaven and is now walking on streets of gold hand in hand with the love of his life, Arlene. They were married for 64 years and were truly best friends. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Debra and Robert VanderMolen, Lynette and Michael Ellis; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Linda and David Hoek; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Monday, April 4, 2022, at South Grandville Christian Reformed Church, 4130 Wilson Ave SW, with Rev. John Witvliet officiating. Burial Grandville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Sunday, April 3, from 2-5 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to South Grandville Christian Reformed or Harbor House Ministries.
