I was thinking of all the wonderful people I had the opportunity to work with over the years. Hal was one of them. I’m sorry to just learn of his passing. We first met when I began work with him at Scot Michael Clothing in Grandville. When that store closed, Hal graciously recommended me and I followed him to Roger’s Department Store. He was a mentor and friend. My thoughts are with Jon and the entire family.

Our prayers are with the Stradtner family! We first met Hal in the late 70’s while he was managing one of the Zondervan book stores. He was instrumental in inviting us to attend Woodview Christian Church to hear a great preacher. We went and spent the next 40 years there! He was a great and faithful Christian man. He will surely be missed!

Patricia and I held a special place in our hearts for Hal and Elaine. They were such a special and loving couple. We were blessed having the privilege of knowing them and calling them friends. They were in our "Dinner for 8" group as well as being if choir together. We have been blessed by their friendship.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to Laurie, John, and the rest of your family on the loss of your father Harold. Harold was our uncle, and while our paths seldom crossed in recent decades, we remember him as a kind, gentle and soft spoken man. We are sorry for his loss but know he now resides in a much better place. Again our deepest sympathies.
