Harold F. Teerman

  Harold F. “Herk” Teerman, age 94, of Jenison, was peacefully called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 27, 2016.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Elizabeth “Betty” Teerman; his parents, John and Mona Teerman; his brothers, Fred Speet, and Wayne Teerman; and his infant sister, Eunice Teerman. Harold was a loving dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa that treasured his family. He was a quiet man who lived his faith. Harold loved to spend time outdoors hunting and fishing and using his metal detector.  He also had a passion for golf and will be especially missed by his golf partner, Paul. Most recently, at his Allen Springs residence, he enjoyed the fellowship time with his friends playing Bingo, Cribbage, Wii bowling, and going on bus trips. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Susan and Pieter Witteveen, Sandra and Tim Bolema, Rick and Sherry Teerman; grandchildren, Kelly, Jon and Michelle, Jeremy and Tina, Erin, Peter and Jamie, Chris and fiancée, Mia, Stephen and Jessie, and Charity; great grandchildren, Eva Grace, Diego, Eisley, and Ramsey Herk; brothers, Gayle and Mary Teerman, Lloyd Teerman; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 30, at 11 am, at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive SW with Rev. Eildert Zwart officiating.  Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 10-11 am prior to the service at the funeral home.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Faith Hospice or to Beverly Reformed Church.
