Harley Jay “Slim” Duimstra, age 80, of Traverse City, formerly of Grand Rapids, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 28, 2019.  He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Melissa Decater; brother, Charles Duimstra; sister, Delores Poley.  He will be greatly missed by his wife of 22 years, Constanza Duimstra; children, Cheri Mathis, Lori and Gabe Perez, Harley J. Duimstra Jr., Jeffrey Duimstra, Raquel and Ken Malocha; stepson, Hugo Rico; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Wanda Clausen.  Funeral services will be held Friday, August 2, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW., with Pastor Dennis Gilbert officiating.  Interment will be held at Floral View Memorial Gardens.  Relatives and friends may meet the family on Friday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
