Remembering Gretchen Schuiteman
Gretchen Schuiteman (Fuller), age 76, of Jenison, was called home to be with Jesus on Monday, March 16, 2026. She was born to the late Merritt and Christina Fuller in Mt. Pleasant, MI, before moving to the Grand Rapids area. Gretchen was a kind and loving wife, mother, and grandmother and was known for her strong work ethic, spending many years as a dedicated hair stylist, forming lasting friendships with the many people she met along the way. She loved to play golf and enjoyed traveling, wintering over the years in Florida and Arizona. A true people person, she had the gift of conversation and never met a stranger. Gretchen found great joy in volunteering at Regenerate and was actively involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren, always offering her love, support, and encouragement. She also cherished the time spent with her Bible study group, where her faith continued to grow. Gretchen took immense pride in her yard and especially loved tending to her beautiful gardens, with a special fondness for her rock garden on hole 8. Her legacy will be remembered through her kindness, her faith, and the deep love she had for her family and friends. Gretchen will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 54 years, Charles Schuiteman; her children, Matt and Brianne Schuiteman, Karen Schuiteman and Kristen Lukasiewicz; her grandchildren, Brody and Brock Schuiteman, and Sylivia Brower; loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Charmaine Boomer, and Gary Fuller. A memorial visitation will be held Sunday, March 22, 2026, from 3-6 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. A graveside service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at Zeeland Cemetery-Felch St. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Humane Society of West Michigan.
