Family owned and operated for over 85 years.
Gregory Wayne Stocking, age 63, of Kentwood, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, June 15, 2025.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wesley Stocking; sister, Amanda Shook; and stepfather, Richard Shook. Greg will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Wendy Keller; daughter, Kendrah (Tyler) Van Dyken; grandchildren, Michelle, and Asher; stepchildren, Rachel (John) Frantz, Vanessa (Ben McCarthy) Foerch; step-grandchildren, Kaydence, Jolene, Shaymus, Sean, and Tadleigh; mother, Carol Shook; sisters, Kimberly Marshall, Karon Stocking (Evan Stein), Debra (Greg) Wemple; brother, Seth Shook; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Greg will be remembered for his profound love of Jesus Christ that was extended to those around him. With his generosity, he bridged the gap for many people and led them into the arms of their Lord and Savior. He held his family and friends close to his heart, treasuring each relationship with sincerity and warmth. He spent his life doing what he loved-sharing the word of God, pouring his heart into the garage as a true artist of the mechanical world. He had a rare talent for taking a vehicle that most would put to scrap and building it into what looked like a brand-new car. If he was fixing something he was happy. He loved to ride his motorcycle taking in God’s creation and enjoying the open road with many friends. His determination, adventurous spirit, and love for animals will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. Greg left a legacy of great memories, wisdom, and seeds of faith planted in the world around him. He will be deeply missed by every life he touched, until Christ returns. Matthew 25: 31-40.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. Burial will take place at Rosedale Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Wednesday from 10-11 am prior to the service at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the non-profit Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
