Grant Earl Pearce, age 77 of Wyoming, went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, January 19, 2016. Grant was born in Lake Linden, MI to Earl and Cora Pearce who preceded him in death. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 46 years, Marlene Pearce; his daughter, Kim (Jim) Zawacki; grandsons, Jeffrey (Chelsea) Zawacki, Matthew Zawacki; cousins, other family members and friends. Grant began his career as an engineer for cable TV and after 20 years, began his own cable system performance testing business. He loved his dogs and his hobbies which included operating his ham radio with his handle, W8GEP. He had a pilot’s license and volunteered with the Civil Air Patrol. He volunteered with emergency communications during “Katrina”. He enjoyed spending time at his cottage and was an excellent hunter. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and spent winters in San Benito, TX. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11am Saturday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3937 Wilson SW, Grandville, with an hour of visitation before the service. Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will meet relatives and friends Friday 4-7pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming, with a vigil service at 6:30pm. Memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army or the ALS Association.

What a wonderful man he was. He touched all of our hearts. It was a pleasure caring for such a fine individual! Our prayers are with Marlene, Kim and the rest of the family during this tough time.

Grant was TV engineer at Western Michigan University when I started a production class there. Later when I worked with WZZM, there he was again! He was a patient and good engineer. My prayers to his extended family for comfort and good memories like mine.
