Grace Brink (Postma), age 94, of Allendale, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, August 26, 2016. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Vern Groen, and her four sisters. Grace was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who treasured her family. She loved traveling, camping, and going on “sister trips” where many memories were made. Being a lifelong teacher, she touched many lives inside and out of the classroom, and had a special place in her heart for Rehoboth Christian School, where she volunteered for many years. She lived her life by example and her faith was evident to all who knew her. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 68 years, Leonard; her children, Ron and Marcia Brink, Jan Groen, Douglas and Beth Brink, Steve Brink, Laurel and Steve Cerda; her grandchildren, Melissa and Kevin Bosma, Marcie and Jeff Leegwater, Rob and Melissa Brink, Channon and Ken Martin, John Groen, Aimee Brink, Curt Brink, Nate Brink, Jessica Paas (Ken), Ben Brink (Melissa), Eric Vander Kooi, Andy and Ashlee Vander Kooi; 18 great-grandchildren; several loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Tuesday, August 30, at First Allendale Christian Reformed Church, 5734 Country View, Allendale, with Rev. Timothy Howerzyl officiating. Interment Allendale Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Monday, August 29, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf (corner of Avery and Scott) 6651 Scott St., Allendale, and also from 10-10:45 am prior to the service at church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Rehoboth Christian School or to Allendale Christian School.

Mrs. Brink was a great teacher. I still sing some of the obscure songs she taught us in grade school. The world is a better place because of her and her influence on her students.
