Schumaker Family, I just saw your Dad in September of 2019 at my Dad's funeral and it was SO good to catch up with him after many decades. Your Dad and mine were friends in the grocery business. Before your Dad married he would visit us in Spring Lake (remember them playing catch in our back yard). He was always such an awesome man. Although I have only met your Aunt Nancy and Uncle Larry, I want you to know that your Dad meant the world to our family. May you hold on to all your memories and know others are sending you sympathy. Sue (Tompkins) Nelson

Sincere condolences to all of Gordon's family. I worked for Gordy in the late 50's. He was the store manager for Kroger on Wealthy / Lake Drive, I was just starting my grocery career as a bagger / clerk then. Later, as a building contactor, I did work for him on Gordy's at 36th and Byron Center. He was a great man to work for and a fine gentleman too. I'll never forget him.

Great Uncle Gord you will be missed by all of us and so many others. I have such fond memories of you as a child from hunting camp at the old Parowan house. Playing pool in your basement and riding the spree’s down the hill by your house as fast as we could. We love you and will miss you.

So saddened to hear of Gord's passing .Gord always had a smile on his face ( ok most of the time he did) and always welcomed us to come swim in your pool when we were all kids. One of my favorite memories is playing my only year of Mushball (16 inch softball ) on a team your dad sponsored in Moline many years ago. Keeping all the family in our prayers at this time. Sending sincere condolences to all of Gordon's children and family. He will truely be missed. One of the many memories I have is the many walks your parents took down 60th street past our house over the years and the exchange of hello's and conversations are parents shared. Hugs to all and embrace the many memories 💖 -The Herps
