On Saturday, July 25, 2026, we said goodbye to a great man of faith, Gordon John Brinks, age 96. He was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather. Gordon was a true prayer warrior, faithfully lifting his loved ones up by name in prayer each and every day. His steadfast walk with the Lord was a beautiful legacy he passed on to his children and generations that followed.

Gordon’s greatest desire in life was for others to know the Jesus he knew and experience the saving grace found only in Him. While we mourn his passing, we rejoice in the assurance that Gordon is now in the presence of his Lord and Savior.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Brinks (in 2015); and his eight siblings. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Renee and Larry Langerak, Vicki and Roger Mullennix, David and Kari Brinks; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandson, Sarah  Morsink (Charlotte, Madeline), Dan and Stephanie Langerak (Gordon), Shannon and Jeff Frick (Tyler and Treyah [Koen], Alexis), Kristy and Kevin Sonntag (Jackson, Ella), Lacey Mullennix, Emily and Zach Robison (Carter, Brynlee, Pyper, Jager), Jennifer and Seth Hopp, Joshua Brinks.

 The family would like to thank the staff at Sunset Manor and Faith Hospice for the compassionate care given to Gordon. 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 3, 2026, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. The burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Sunday, August 2, from 6-8 p.m. and on Monday from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Faith Hospice.
