Gordon William Brinks, Sr., age 76, of Hudsonville, went to be with the Lord and Savior on Friday, December 4, 2020. Gord was a generous and caring person, who was an active member of his church. He was a plumber for all his working years. He was preceded in death by his son, Gordy Jr.; grandson, Joshua Van Belzen; and sister, Nelvina Ilbrink. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 57 years, Carlyne; children, Lisa and Brent Zomerlei, Laura and Kurt Schurman; grandchildren, Branden and Abby Zomerlei, Andrew and Meghan Zomerlei, Jordan and Michaela Zomerlei, Nathan and Danielle Zomerlei, Makayla Schurman, Adam Schurman, and Melanie and Greg Slivinski; three great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Esther and Herm Scholten, Marcia and Sam Bolt, Marv and Wilma Ilbrink; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ron and Arlene Boomsma, Beth and Bob Ypma, Lorna Dulaney and Lupe Covarrubio, Rick and Brenda Boomsma. The family wishes to thank the staff at Spectrum Health Zeeland Hospital for the wonderful Christian care that was provided. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 11 am at Jenison Bible Church with Pastor Charlie Grimaldi, Pastor Lee Buer, and Pastor Mark Bouslog officiating. Burial Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday 5-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW.
