Gloria Ritzema

Gloria Ann Ritzema, age 82, of Jenison, passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, LaVerne; parents, Fred and Edna Aardema; brothers, Tom Aardema and Frederick Aardema; sister, Vivian Bergman; sister-in-law, Barbara Herlin. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Rachel and Joe Rincones, Andrew and Teresa Ritzema, Julie and Robert Szarowicz, Alex and Abelina Ritzema; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister, Myrna Householder; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Jeanne Aardema, Alton Ritzema, Dale and Dixie Ritzema, Norman and Grace Ritzema; dear cousin and friend, Cathy Oostema; many nieces and nephews. Gloria was artistic and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing and painting. With family and friends, she loved playing games, Farkle, Wii-bowling and horseshoes. Gloria was an amazing baker and loved to make pies and cookies. She will be greatly missed for her sense of humor and sarcasm, her story-telling and love for her family. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor Dennis Gilbert officiating. Burial will take place at Floral View Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family for visitation one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Sunset Legacy Foundation.
