Gloria DeWitte

Gloria Mae Marie DeWitte, age 94, of Grandville, passed away to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 6, 2023. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Gloria’s faith was most important to her, she gave her time serving her church, school, and her family. Gloria was a bus driver for Grandville Calvin Christian Schools for over 40 years, and will always be remembered as, “Ma DeWitte”. She impacted the lives of many of the students that rode her bus as well as other students throughout the school. Her biggest pride and joy was her family and the wonderful memories shared with them. Gloria was full of life, who enjoyed spending time as an avid bowler and a talented painter. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Richard; and brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Phyllis Hewitt. Gloria will be lovingly remembered by her children, Sandra (Harry) DeMeester, Kenneth (Janet) DeWitte, Jack (Sally) DeWitte, Richard DeWitte, Jeffrey (Tamie) DeWitte, James (Michelle) DeWitte; 18 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; brother, Stephen and Julia Lundberg; sister-in-law, Mary Adama; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Fellowship Christian Reformed Church, 4375 Ivanrest Ave SW, Grandville with Pastor Mike Ramsey and Pastor Alex Snider officiating. Burial at Grandville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Grandville Calvin Christian Schools with a designation for bussing.
