On Monday, October 11, 2021, Geziena left her earthly home and entered her heavenly mansion prepared by her Savior (John 14:1-3). She was born on a farm in Highland, Michigan and moved to Grand Rapids at the age of 15. Preceding her in death was her husband, Edwin Zylstra; sister, Anna Pylman; and brothers, John, Siebren, Harry, and Gary DeHaan. Surviving are her cherished children, Julie and Bradley Byl and Ronald Zylstra; beloved grandchildren, Matthew and Samantha Byl, Katherine Byl and fiancé, Rony Murillo, Caleb, Abigail, Isabella, and Gideon Zylstra; great-grandsons, Logan and Jude Byl; brother-in-law, Alfred Elders; sisters-in-law, Joan Zylstra and Cora Hoogerwerf; and many nieces and nephews including her special niece, Judy Slager. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2021, at 11 a.m. at South Grandville Christian Reformed Church with Rev. John Witvliet officiating. The burial will take place at Grandville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday, October 20, from 5-8 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Emmanuel Hospice or South Grandville CRC.
