Gertrude Beuker, age 90 years, passed away on March 9, 2024, after a short illness. She is survived by her daughter, Flo Ruwersma; sister, Jan Morey and family; grandchildren, Craig Fries and family, Eric Fries and family; several nieces and nephews; step children, Richard Beuker and family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ruwersma, the love of her life, and second husband, Raymond Beuker; brother, Peter Niewiek; sister, Angie Niewiek Mys; brother, Herman Niewiek; step children, David Beuker and Linda Baarman. She enjoyed her hairstyling for over 30 years at Grand Valley Nursing home. Thank you to her special care givers Mary Boes, Kyle VanderSchuur, Shirley Franklin, Tammie Johnston and Jan Gillessi. She was very active in Immanuel Christian Reformed Church, Kentwood Community Church and Faith Community Christian Reformed Church. Funeral services will be held 11 am Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood, with Rev. Hank Vlaardingerbroek officiating. Burial at Pine Hill Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 10-11 am at the funeral home prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Association.
