Gertrude   Austhof

Austhof, Gertrude Gertrude (Dreise) Austhof, age 80, of Jenison, went to be with her Lord on Monday, December 31, 2012.  She is now singing with the angels and has been re-united with her husband, Dutch, and her daughter, Jill.  She fought a spirited battle with multiple illnesses for many years and was a great example of faith and strength to her family.  She will be very deeply missed by her children and grandchildren, Jerry Austhof, Joel and Sandy Austhof (Jared, Brad), Julie and Kirk Driesenga (Kelsey, Nate, Alec), Tracy and Jerry Workman (Cody Austhof, Justin Workman); son-in-law, Bob and Carol Smith; twin sisters, Joanne and Dong Bui, Janet Kidder; brother-in-law, Neil Vanden Band; sisters-in-law, Crystal Austhof, Gladys Austhof, Betty Austhof; many nieces and nephews.  Also preceding her in death are her sisters and brother, Liz Van Ens, Thressa Northouse, Alvene Vanden Band, Bern Dreise.  Funeral services will be held on Friday 11 am at Fellowship Christian Reformed Church, 4375 Ivanrest SW, Grandville with Rev. Phil Boender officiating.  Interment Winchester Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family on Thursday from 5-8 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home, (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Grandville Christian School or Calvin Christian School.
