HOMMINGA- Mrs. Geraldine Homminga aged 91 passed away Sunday, August 6, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wellington "Bill" Homminga; sisters, Genevieve Redmond, Celia Clark, Nina Starr; brothers, Clesant Elliott, Weldon Elliott, Dale Elliott; brothers in law, Cliff Redmond, Randall Clark, Allen Smith, Herbert Starr. She is survived by son, Gerald (Carolyn) Homminga; siblings, Ethlyn Smith, Karen (Jerry) Kober, Cliff (Lorene) Elliott, Walter (Sally) Elliott; sisters in law, Jean Elliott, Doris Elliott, Roberta Elliott; grandchildren, Scott (Gina) Homminga, Patricia Homminga, Lisa (Michael) Freiburger, Lori (Kent) Gruber; 7 great grandchildren. Geraldine was an active member of Maplelawn Baptist Church for 50 years. She was a past volunteer for the Wyoming Police Department, active with the Michigan Consolidated Gas Company Retirees, and a resident of Meadowlark Retirement Community in Sparta. A funeral service will be held Thursday, August 10, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Dr. NE. Her family will greet relatives and friends one hour prior to the service.
