Gerald W.  Rieger, age 82, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 14, 2019. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cheryl Marie; parents, Ernest and Bessie Rieger; sister, Dorothy Allen; brother-in-law, Gordon Teaker. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 63 years, Dorothy; daughters, Susan and James Snyder, Ruth Ann and Steve Evilsizor; grandchildren, Amanda, Ryan and Mykala, Heidi and Albert, Andy and Morgan, Byron; great grandchildren, Jaxon, Evelyn and Leighton all whom he dearly loved. Gerald worked for Meijer in the warehouse for 45 years. He tried retirement which lasted 1 year.  He finally retired from Dicks Sporting Goods after 15 years at the age of 80. He was a member of Cascade Christian Church for over 50 years where he was an outdoor greeter for 8 years until his health started to fail. Memorial services will be held 2 pm Monday, July 22, 2019 at Cascade Christian Church, 2829 Thornapple River Dr. SE, Grand Rapids with Rev. Jill Forton officiating.  Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 1-2 pm at the church prior to the service.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Cascade Christian Church or Faith Hospice.
