MORTON – Gerald Richard Morton Sr.,"Mort", age 85, was called home to be with his LORD and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, August 7, 2020.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerald and Margueritte Morton; step-son, Joseph “Pat” Hackett III;  his brothers, Allen “Mike” Morton, Horace “Hod” Morton, Garrette "Turk" Urban, Thomas Urban, John Taylor, Ricky Taylor; sisters, Colia Beckwith, Nikki Morton, Arthalou Urban.  Gerald is survived by his companion and friend of 30 years, Helen Strong; children, Cal (Karen) Morton, Joy (Richard) Adelberg, Koley (Frank) Hockeborn, David (Daena) Morton, Gerald (Tara) Morton Jr., Richard (Anne) Morton Jr., Zachary Morton; step-children, Karen Strong and Karl Hornsby; grandchildren, Heather Hackett, John Hackett, Cal Morton Jr., Jon Raymond, Daniel Campbell, Aaron Campbell, Benjamin Campbell, Makayla Haag, Pierce Haag, Zachary Morton, Cooper Morton, Alyssa Morton, Makenna Morton, Olivia Hornsby and 8 other grandchildren; great grandchildren, Layna Raymond, Olivia Raymond, Seraphime Taylor and 4 other great grandchildren; sisters, Wardine Urban (Chambers), Clyta Morton (Chambers) and Melody "Dawn" Morton.  A Graveside Service will be held 10:30 AM Monday, August 17 at Plainfield Township Cemetery, 6205 Packer Dr NE, Belmont, MI.  Gerald’s family will greet relatives and friends 3:00 to 5:00 PM Sunday, August 16 at Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Drive NE, Belmont.  To share a photo, memory and sign the online guestbook please visit www.stegengafuneralchapel.com
