HEATON - Gerald "Jerry" Heaton age 81 formerly of Grand Rapids passed away in Mariposa, California on Wednesday June 28, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Royal and Mary Heaton; daughter, Lynn Rentsman; grandson, Brent Rentsman; brother-in-law's, Bill Sleeman and Robert Caren. He is survived by his former wife and caretaker, Julie Rohlman; children, Amanda Heaton, Emily Heaton, Kathy Ann Ross, Kerri Heaton, Cherri Bank, Kelly Melioli, Jeffery Heaton, Gerald Heaton Jr.; sisters, Gloria "Jean" Sleeman, Carol (Walter) Howe, Marilyn Carten. Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Friday July 7, 2017 at Pennellwood Church of God, 3459 Reiser Ave. SW, Grand Rapids with a luncheon following the service. Jerry's family will greet relatives and friends from 6 to 8 PM on Thursday July 6, 2017 at Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 3131 S. Division Ave., Wyoming and one hour prior to the service at the church.
